JOAD Achievement Pin Tournament

Good afternoon friends. It is hard to believe that a year has gone by since I opened the archery studio. It has been going great and we are having our First Birthday Party on Saturday, May 28th from noon to 3PM. It would be wonderful if you could stop in and bring other family or friends along. There is a good chance at that event we will be hitting our 300th sign in! We will be demonstrating archery and you will have an opportunity to shoot if you like. Lunch, cake and soft drinks will be provided, as well as prizes. All the information is in the attached flier. If you would like to attend, please let me know by Friday, May 27th so I can make sure we have enough refreshments.

Welcome to Autumn. Thanks to all for being part of Archers Artemis for the past four months. In that time, we ran five or six classes per week. Several of the classes have been full to capacity. We also had our Labor Day Tournament. All twelve students who participated received their USA Archery Junior Olympic Archery Development Pins. We also hosted our first Birthday Party. I am not sure who had more fun- nine 10-year old girls or me! The Boston Guitar Orchestra also had a few rehearsals here. A little music, a little archery! We were host to thirteen Youth for a Beginner USA Archery Junior Olympic Summer Camp. Twenty Zumba enthusiasts booked a private party. We had guests from Seattle, Ohio, Connecticut, Colorado and Portofino (Italy); local families wanting to have their guests enjoy archery!

Since opening, there has been over 770 sign-ins, it won’t be long before we hit 1000. In honor of that, we will be awarding gift certificates to number 999, 1000 and 1001!

We are also doing a monthly raffle for a gift certificate. Every time you come in to shoot, you will have an opportunity to enter the drawing if you shoot the card with the sticker on it. To make it a little more challenging you won’t be able to see the sticker. It will be on one of three cards attached to the target. You will have six arrows. If you hit all three cards, you will automatically be entered into the drawing, which will be held on Halloween.

More on Halloween later…

And who is up for the First Annual Tofu Shoot on the Saturday after Thanksgiving? (No tofu will be harmed at this event!) But students, you will get to show off to your out of town relatives and maybe teach them a thing or two. And of course, food and prizes are at all events.

Enjoy the beauty of fall. At Archers Artemis we just had all new windows installed. Since we are across from the Georgetown Rowley State Forest, we will be having a spectacular foliage viewing.

Come on in and shoot!

Archers Artemis was proud to host 13 youth at the USA Archery Junior Olympic Archery Development Summer Camp on August 8th and 19th.  What a terrific group of children who worked hard and played hard!

Thanks to all who attended our open house Saturday, May 30th, 2015. 150 of you came out to check us out and 77 of you shot, many for the first time. The event was featured in an article in the Georgetown local.

Below are photos taken by Boston Globe freelance photographer Mark Lorenz during the grand opening.

Several of you signed up for classes and bought summer range passes so I am delighted that I will get to see you again and help you with your archery goals. See you on the range!
